Why You Should NOT Smoke!

Most people would agree that smoking is not good for the environment and your guy’s family . Your mental health , it is REALLY unattractive . Smoking makes your teeth yellow and you’ll get lung cancer and mouth cancer . You don’t wanna end up like my Whaea Jasmine going out for “FrEsH aIr’ during breaktime and asking people for perfume , it smells disgusting and makes you look disgusting . People spend thousands of dollars on smokes when they can buy at least a car or house.

A sensible idea would be to tell someone you see to quit and tell them that they could get yellow teeth , lung cancer or mouth cancer. Around 4500 to 5000 people die yearly in NZ caused by smoking. Carrying around a smoke makes you look unattractive and disgusting.

Here are two reasons why you should quit smoking!  One – It makes your clothes, hair, house ect smell like stale old smokes. Two – People throw cigarette butts and still smokeable smokes into the ocean and kill or extinct most marine animals.

Surely you would agree that having clean air is better than second-hand smoked air from a disgusting smoker?

EVERYBODY knows that smoking is unhealthy and disgusting, some kids grow up around smokers and when they’re older they might start. So maybe try to stop smoking to make sure your child doesn’t grow up as a smoker!

Yours sincerely,

Arihana.

Na Wai I.

This morning my class and I have been working on Na Wai I. I have been learning how to say something in Te Reo Māori. Like – “Na wai ahau i whakahaka ki Rotorua ?” –  Who will take me back to Rotorua ?

Nāku means me.

Nā wai means who.

Here is the link to my work.

Awhintia Te Wero.

Yesterday my class and I did science with Marijn and Tewharau, first blcok we focused on learning about the importantance of Tikauka and Harakeke for our Tupuna. The Tupuna used it for shoes, rain coats, shin guards, food (Suger from the Tikauka.) They brought some to school, like shin guards, shoes, and mini rain coats. Second block we got given glass, razor, water, and a patato. We put our Harakeke or Tikauka in between the cut of the patato and used the razor and cut a little of the Harakeke and put it on the piece of glass. When everyone was done Marijn put blue dye on all everyones Harakeke or Tikauka, once it was done 5 minutes later we got given a paper towel and had to get all the water out of the Harakeke. I picked Harakeke and it was pretty easy to get the dye off the glass and Harakeke. We used a microscope and had to have a look at, I discovered that under the microscope the Harakeke has like small air bubbles and it looks very pretty. Once we were done using the microscope everyone had to draw what they saw under the microscope. After that we went out to break. Third block we tested how strong the muka was and I was shocked to see that it weighted 28kgs until it broke. We put water into a bucket and some weights, but it wasn’t lots cause they only had a little bit of the muka. Last block we had to make solar panels and had to see how high we could get to get the highest number, my friend and I got up to 5.43. We ran all around the back just to get a high reading. Throughtout all of that we learnt how to respect the things and treat them good.

Drawing.

Today my class and I went outside to go and draw about what we see but we had to draw all the details. I drew the rocks and some trees and bushes, but I cant really draw but yeah I tried. Its not the best drawing cause I aint a drawer or anything so I just drew something random things I saw but then I had to add all details to the drawing. I think it was fun because we didnt have to be in class but yeah I think it was hard to draw cause again I aint a drawer. But heres my photo and my work of art.

Why The Beach Is Better Than The Pools.

Yes the pool can be great, sometimes with hydroslides and water parks. But at the beach you can surf, sail, scuba dive, fish, kayak, and so much more! The ocean is filled with possibility. I feel like I have a much deeper connection with the ocean than a pool. Another reason the beach is better than the pool is that it can’t have nearly as much bacteria build up from humans cousin us to possibly be sick. The feeling you get when you jump straight into the surf, the wind blowing against you is incomparable.

In my opinion the beach is better than the pools, the beach is free but the pools are not, save your money and go to the beach.

In conclusion, this is why I believe that the beach is better than swimming in the pool. Did you know that elements in seawater activate the body’s healing mechanisms and support healing for diseases, asthma, bronchitis, arthritis, and localized aches and pains. Also in rich magnesium, seawater helps release stress, relax your muscles, promote deep sleep and spiritually cleanse your aura. I hope I have convinced you the beach is better than a swimming pool.

The beautiful, bright, big, beach. The beach is very fun to swim in and the waves hit you on a hot summer day. Have you ever laid on the warm golden sand on a hot summer’s day?

The beach can be amazingly awesome. Only 13% of females have drowned and only 87% of male have drowned at the beach. That’s a good statistic for me because I’m a woman. Thank you for reading.

Wonderings.

Last week me & my class made a wonderings for term three doc & it had stuff such as the most fun this this year & I added The thing I found fun this year is playing games. Why? Because it’s fun to do,  Some people don’t like playing games & we don’t get taken out much but when we do that’s fun. Here is the link to my work if you would like to see the rest.

My Holiday.

This week my class & I had to write about what we did during our holiday, I am enjoying it but I haven’t finished it yet but it’s very fun to do.

During the holidays me & Azaleigha went to the beach on Saturday  & then we went to timezone on Monday. We also went to go get some starbucks, we had a great time during the holidays. On Tuesday me & my cousin Keisha went to the movies & saw the new spider man, we went to the shop first to go & get hot chips from the shop near qe2. We had a very fun time doing that.

Anyways I hope you liked reading this & have a good day, bye.

Stan Walker.

For the past few days my class has been working on a famous Maori person.

A lot of people picked Stan Walker & I was one of them.  There is lots of things I didn’t know about him, I learnt that he was born in Aussie but he came to New Zealand in 2013 & 2015 for a show. Like I didn’t know that Stan Walker’s nan is part Indian & most of his back teeth are fake because there rotten.

Did you know he hates mushrooms? I didn’t know any of them.

I hope you learnt a thing or two because I know I have.

Thank you for reading this, if you want to here is the link to my work.
